Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Salesforce Architect with 12+ years of Salesforce experience to own the overall Salesforce solution architecture and technical direction for an enterprise client. The candidate will be responsible for designing scalable, secure, high-performing Salesforce solutions aligned with business objectives while providing technical leadership to development, integration, and delivery teams.
The ideal candidate will combine hands-on Salesforce development expertise with enterprise architecture, solution design, and stakeholder management capabilities. Strong experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, enterprise integrations, Salesforce AI capabilities, and large-scale implementations is essential.

Key Responsibilities

1. Salesforce Solution Architecture
  • Own the overall Salesforce solution architecture, ensuring scalability, security, performance, maintainability, and alignment with business requirements.
  • Lead solution design and architecture for complex Salesforce implementations, enhancements, integrations, and transformation initiatives.
  • Make architectural decisions related to Salesforce data models, integrations, security, automation, custom development, APIs, and platform capabilities.
  • Identify technical risks, scalability concerns, architectural gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure architecture decisions follow Salesforce best practices and enterprise architecture standards.

2. Salesforce Development & Technical Leadership
  • Maintain hands-on involvement in Salesforce development using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, Flows, Salesforce APIs, and integrations.
  • Provide technical direction to developers, technical leads, integration teams, and Salesforce professionals.
  • Review technical designs, code, integrations, and implementation approaches.
  • Guide teams in developing scalable, secure, maintainable, and high-performing Salesforce solutions.
  • Resolve complex technical challenges and recommend appropriate architectural solutions.

3. Enterprise Integration & Data Architecture
  • Design and oversee integrations between Salesforce and enterprise applications, middleware, external systems, and third-party platforms.
  • Define integration architecture using REST/SOAP APIs, event-driven architecture, middleware, and other enterprise integration patterns.
  • Establish appropriate data architecture, data flows, synchronization mechanisms, and integration standards.
  • Ensure secure and reliable data exchange across enterprise applications.
  • Address Salesforce governor limits, data volumes, performance bottlenecks, and integration scalability.

4. Salesforce Platform & Cloud Solutions
  • Lead solution design across Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud.
  • Evaluate and apply Revenue Cloud, Financial Services Cloud (FSC), Experience Cloud, and Data Cloud where relevant to business requirements.
  • Drive adoption of modern Salesforce capabilities, including Agentforce, Einstein AI, and other emerging Salesforce technologies.
  • Assess platform capabilities and recommend appropriate standard, declarative, or custom development approaches.
  • Ensure solutions leverage Salesforce capabilities effectively while minimizing unnecessary complexity.

5. Security, Performance & Governance
  • Define Salesforce security architecture, sharing models, access controls, and data protection practices.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise security, governance, and architecture standards.
  • Review system performance, scalability, governor limits, and technical debt.
  • Establish architectural guidelines and technical standards for development and integrations.
  • Promote maintainable solutions that support future enhancements and enterprise growth.

6. Client Engagement & Solution Consulting
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and senior leadership to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Lead architecture workshops, technical discovery sessions, solutioning discussions, and estimation activities.
  • Support solution proposals and communicate architectural recommendations to enterprise clients.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to client stakeholders.
  • Explain complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

7. Delivery Governance & Team Collaboration
  • Collaborate with delivery and program leadership to ensure architecture decisions support project objectives and successful delivery.
  • Work with development, integration, QA, DevOps, and business teams throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Support technical planning, design reviews, code reviews, release planning, and implementation governance.
  • Promote engineering excellence, Salesforce best practices, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure technical decisions align with enterprise delivery standards and long-term business goals.

Required Technical Skills & Competencies
  • 12+ years of hands-on Salesforce experience, with significant experience in Salesforce architecture and enterprise implementations.
  • Proven experience working with large enterprise clients and complex Salesforce environments.
  • Strong expertise in Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud.
  • Hands-on development knowledge of Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, Flows, Salesforce APIs, and integrations.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce security, sharing models, data architecture, integration architecture, governor limits, scalability, and performance optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with Agentforce and Salesforce AI capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, event-driven architecture, and external system integrations.
  • Experience making architectural decisions and translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Strong solution design, technical problem-solving, and architectural decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead architecture discussions with senior business and technology stakeholders.
  • Salesforce Architect-level certification(s) required.
